kellys july quick challenge
If you haven’t caught a glimpse of the this challenge on the message board…..
then you saw it in Friday’s newsletter…..

And if you still haven’t heard about the challenge, then I’ll fill you in on the details! The deadline is tomorrow- Friday July 7th at midnight.
And here are the nitty gritty details:

One layout using 3 different patterned papers, 3 different photos, 3 different types of embellishments and a title!

For example, Ginger’s “Lucky Guy” layout uses 3 patterned papers, 3 photos,a title and 3 embellishments- flowers, chipboard bird and rhinestones.

You can enter as many times as you would like, but you have to go over to the Message Board and gallery to let Kelly know you’re playing along and load your layout. In the thread you’ll get a glimpse of the RAK Kelly is giving away to two lucky winners!

See you there!

circle techy upclose

Keeping with the swing of things! A new technique today. Have you figured out I like to make a mess yet? So keeping in rare form….we’ll play with paint! Take a look at the little teaser….ever wondered how to get those perfectly round, trendy circles? Keep reading! Then you can run to your bathroom and start working on your own. Yes! I said bathroom. Your supply list starts with an empty toilet paper roll (or a paper towel roll). Paint___brushes__project paper___

circle paint supplies

step 1/2

for today I’ll be working in my art journal, but you can use this technique directly on your scrapbook projects.
When you have decided on the area you would like your circles…..

step 3

dab your empty roll into your paint. More is less in this area. The roll is not like stamping, the edges are REALLY thin.

step 4

Then gently “stamp” the circle onto the project. Try and get a visual idea of where you are going with your design, that way you won’t mess up the embellishments or photos if you have any on there already.

step 5

If you work on your project before embellies and photos…you are free to add more stamping or painting. In the last photo I added a stamp to my project, right on top of the circles.
Make sure everything is dry before you add the rest of your embellishments.
Voila! A new technique! Visit the TMZ Gallery to see my finished project.
Happy painting!
