So, it all started with a Cricut beginners class where it didn’t matter which machine you owned, the original Cricut Personal Cutter, Cricut Expression or Cricut Create; you were getting to learn the basics in the class.  What the Cricut is all about, how it works and just general knowledge.  Several months ago, I offered an Expression only class where we did a “SNOW” wall hanging project.  Unfortunately, we met with unexpected obstacles and were unable to really explore the special features of the Expression.  Well, after taking another look at the needs and requests of you Cricut lovers out there, I have hopefully come up with a better solution for all of you.

Starting in May, I will be offering a total of four, yes, FOUR different classes for all levels of Cricut lovers.  I am hopeful that we have been able to work out the kinks and give you the knowledge that you need to make your Cricut work the best for you and take your crafting to the next level.  Here is an extended explanation as to what each class will offer:

Cricut 101:  This class is designed for the Cricut Personal Digital Cutter.  You will learn the basics of getting to know your machine, how the cartridges work, what all those buttons mean and introduce you to several Cricut accessories.  This is basically the same  “CRICUT 101″  class that we have always offered with one exception — this class is ONLY for those who own or are interested in the Cricut Personal Cutter. You will be working hands-on with your machine and the George cartridge that came with your Cricut.

Cricut Expression 101:  This class is designed for the Cricut EXPRESSION Digital Cutter.  Again, you will learn the basics of how your machine works, how the cartridges work, what all those extra keys mean on the keypad and introduce you to several Cricut accessories.  You will be working hands-on with your Expression and the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge that came with your machine.

Cricut Expression 201:  Take your Cricut Expression knowledge to the next level.  We will focus our attention on all of  those “extra” features that are only found on the Expression machine.  In order to take this class, you must have completed either one of the “101″ classes that we offer (unless you speak with me to get an exemption).   You will be working hands-on with your Expression and the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge that came with your machine.  I would recommend this class to anyone who had previously taken any of the Cricut 101 classes or anyone who had taken the “SNOW” project class.

Cricut Design Studio Software:  Well, you asked for it, now you have it!  For the first time EVER, we will be exploring the basics of Design Studio.  You must have already completed either one of the Cricut 101 classes in order to take this class (unless you speak with me to get an exception).  I encourage those who attend this class to bring their laptop with them to class with the Design Studio Software already installed and ready to go.  If you curious about this software designed to enhance your Cricut experience, but don’t already own it, NO PROBLEM!  You can download a FREE trial version of the software here:  FREE TRIAL VERSION OF CRICUT DESIGN STUDIO SOFTWARE.  Do your homework with this class before making an investment into the software.  If you don’t have a computer available to you for class, you can always just follow along and take notes.

Hopefully, I have been able to explain how these new (or old) classes will work and better meet your needs for learning how your Cricut will function.  If you are still unsure which class is for you and your abilities, just give me a call at the store or stop in and I will help you decide which class is the best fit for you.  Be sure to check the May calendar for the specific dates and times I will be offering the above classes.

P.S.  As a side note, if you remember, we had also been offering cartridge specific classes for the various Cricut machines.  In these classes, it was required that you OWN the particular cartridge in order to use in the class.  The feedback from the majority of our customers is that they would prefer a class where owning the cartridge is not nessisary.  WE ARE LISTENING! We are now offering the benefits of the several Cricut cartridges without the need to OWN them in several NEW classes on the schedule:

NO CRICUT REQUIRED: I will be teaching this class features several of the Disney Cricut cartridges and just as the title states, NO CRICUT is REQUIRED!  Keep your eyes open for these fun new classes which will give you the ability to create fun and exciting layouts that were once only reserved for Cricut owners.

HELLO KITTY STYLE and THE WORLD OF CARS:  Charity Sorrells will be teaching this class using the adorable character found on the Cricut cartridges of the same name. Be sure to check out these adorable layouts on the calendar now and in the coming months.
