Back to Class…
September 22, 2007 on 10:25 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsI find some of my greatest personal satisfaction in life when I am learning something new. Whether it be something to do with this scrapbooking hobby of mine or helping my sons with a research project for school. Learning is something I simply enjoy. Now with the kids back in school I find I can squeeze a little more time in for me and that means taking a class or two at The Memory Zone Scrapbook Store.
My most recent class was the Flourishes & Flowers class with Amy. It was FUN! The layout & card we made were so different and cool. It so refreshing to do something out of my “normal”routine. Lots of layered items and super fresh papers and embellishments. And the best part, learning and trying new things. Just what I’ve grown to expect from an MZ class.
I’ve taken some other classes at the MZ that have really made a difference in my scrapping style. Such as the “Chips & Dip,” learning new techniques with chipboard. Now I use it all of the time! Getting my SDU certificate was another very worthwhile experience I’ve gotten at the MZ. This program and the Masters SDU are very over the top, so organized and easy to follow. Add to that Rhonda & Marlene’s years of practical knowledge and lively, upbeat teaching styles, well you already know… that means FUN! I’d highly recommend SDU to any one starting out or a seasoned veteran of the hobby. The skills gained from it will never be lost.
I challenge you…
take a class! Step out for an hour or two and have some quality time with the hobby you love. You’re never to old to learn a new trick, technique or twist on an idea. What the heck, it’s plain old fashioned fun with a bunch of people who love the hobby as much as you do.
Go to the “classes and events“ for this month’s schedule! See ya at the MZ!
What are you waiting for?
September 17, 2007 on 8:02 pm | In Card making, Embellishments, New Scrapbooking Products, Papercrafts | 1 CommentI’ve already started looking! You can’t tell me you haven’t!
How could you not? Every magazine is gearing for it already!
And you can’t get through a craft store without running into a
steady stream of doodads and thingy-ma-bobs straight from
Winter Village Central.
So…..do you have food for thought when it comes to your
Christmas Cards for 2007? I know…I know….it’s not exactly
what you want to be thinking right now! But, the sooner the better
in some cases. Are you the type of person who needs to get a move
on because you have other projects you are giving for gifts, and
you haven’t even started those yet? Or are you the type B….who says
“It doesn’t take me any time at all. I’m not worried!” But forget how
hard it is to get just the right patterned paper come closer to Christmas?!

and Around the Block

May I be the first to tell you about this amazing little kit I
recently picked up at the store! Around the Block’s Ultimate
Tag Kit…..It’s to die for if you are looking for something pretty,
easy, and versatile to help get your cards and projects made.
There are 50 tags in the box! And they have a WIDE variety
of themes to choose from. I was able to pump out 6 cards in one
sitting…and i still have a few tags left for more Christmas themes.
And when I’m done….I still have 40 tags to choose from for other
projects!
