Krispy Kreme: Hot & Now!
May 15, 2009 on 11:43 am | In Store Announcement | No CommentsA couple of years ago while we were attending the CHA show in Chicago we drove past a Krispy Kreme and the “HOT & NOW” sign was on….I had NO idea what that meant, but Lisa quickly enlightened me! For anyone of you who don’t know about the “Hot & Now” Sign, the next time you are driving past your local Krispy Kreme location and the “Hot & Now” sign is on, be sure to stop in, they will have a doughnut in hand for you as you get in the door! Mmmmmm! Fresh, hot and FREE! I thought to my self, are you kidding, there has to be a catch. Well, ok, tell me how many of you can walk in, eat the delicious glazed doughnut and walk out without 12 more? EXACTLY! That was the catch. LOL
That was about 4 years ago my eyes were opened to this wonderful event. But since we have no local Krispy Kreme, I don’t get to take advantage of the oppurtunity often. (Which is probably a good thing) But a couple of months ago, I was out with my Mother, Aunt, and Sister and as we were driving down Main St., I noticed the “Hot & Now” sign was light up. Mom and Bonnie had no idea why Marlene and I were willing to cross 2 lanes of traffic and RUN, not walk to the door (you never now how long that has already been on and when they might shut it off). At first, they didn’t believe us, but soon they were enjoying there FREE glazed doughnut, too!
So where am I going with all of this? May 16, be sure to stop by the store for your FREE glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut! What’s the catch? Remember the FIRST one is FREE…we will have others available $5 per dozen. (First come, fist serve). Mmmmmmmm
We want to THANK everyone for being patient with us this week as we transition our computer system and work through inventory.
The doughnuts that are for sale are for a fundraiser that Marlene’s children have going on right now in their 4-H club.
Zutter & Handmade Inspiration
May 11, 2009 on 10:25 pm | In Papercrafts, Uncategorized | No CommentsHave you seen the latest issue of Simply Handmade by Scrapbook Trends? They are always chalk full of great ideas to inspire your creative non-scrappy side. Birthday parties, home decor, holiday treats and my favorite; office supply needs!
I found the cleverest idea to stick in a backpack or as a teacher appreciation gift… Handmade Notebooks. But these are not your average notebooks. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Zutter Bind it All & wire
- empty cereal {or other cool} boxes
- heavy duty paper cutter
- notebook paper or copy paper
- scrapbook paper & stickers
You take your favorite cereal or product boxes and cut them down to just the right size {This will be based on how big the box is or your favorite part of the packaging design}.
After you have your front and back box covers cut down, put them in your Zutter Bind It All and add your holes. Trim down the inside paper of your choice to the same size as your covers and run that through the Bind It All also. You’ll have to do this in small quantities with the paper.
Before you put the whole thing together, you can cover the inside of your covers with scrapbook paper and embellish as desired.
Here’s the finished project!
Hope you’ve enjoyed this one. And feel free to share your ceral box creations with us in our gallery!
