In the fall of 2000, Natasha Hixon, a long-time
scrapbooker, was searching for a way to create
cut-out letters for titles without having
to hand trace and cut out the letters or
without going to a scrapbook store to use
an industrial die-cutting machine. After
exhausting the only options available at
the time, she decided there had to be a better
way!
Natasha’s search began, and the QuicKutz
Personal Die-Cutting System has been her “mission” ever
since! After Natasha discovered the perfect
dies for her purposes, she asked her husband,
Mark, to help her find and develop a tool
that would make the dies work for scrapbooking.
Natasha and Mark researched the QuicKutz
System on their own for six months and developed
the first QuicKutz prototypes. In July 2001,
Natasha and Mark joined forces with Eric
J. Ruff, founder and former CEO of PowerQuest
Corporation. QuicKutz, Inc. was founded in
the summer of 2001.
The QuicKutz Personal Die-Cutting System
was launched on the QuicKutz website in the
Spring of 2002. In August of that same year,
the QuicKutz System was made available in
local scrapbooking stores.
